Splish, Splash, Baby is taking a Bath

13th July 2012

On a monthly basis, our website, www.baby-moon.eu, gives away the Bvlgari Petits et Mamans Bath Collection. Through completing our BabyMoon Survey, visitors have the chance to win the Bvlgari Soap Coffret with six animal-shaped soaps, the Gentle Shampoo & Bath Gel, and the Gentle Body Lotion.

The choice to give away the Bvlgari Petits et Mamans bath collection was a very easy one to make. Pregnant women from more than 184 countries around the world visit our web site and a brand with global awareness was a must. Secondly, the products are gender-neutral.  Thirdly, the Petits et Mamans collection is alcohol-free and allergy tested, and uses only the most gentle ingredients ideal for childrens’ sensitive skin.

With two daughters out of the diapers and into school, it got me thinking about the bath rituals of new moms. Which products do they use for their babies and which type is most popular ?

The Bvlgari Petits et Mamans Bath Collection

I asked several friends who welcomed newborns in the last year. This resulted in some very interesting feedback. A bit unanticipated was the fact that their feedback was based on the condition of the skin of their babies. The first two friends I asked, both  of their babies got eczema which made them decide to change the products that they used during bath time.  They now use special, fragrance-free products.

One friend told me that her 13-month-old baby got eczema a few weeks ago. Before the eczema, she loved to use products that made her baby smell delicious. She mentioned that she uses  ‘Lief’ hair lotion and Bvlgari Petits et Mamans eau de toilette. She didn’t like to use bath oil because of the danger that it could get into her  baby’s lungs. Since her baby has eczema,  she uses Balneum bath oil because it’s such a good product that helps her baby’s skin heal. After bath she uses the Neutral Body Lotion.

While using fragrance-free products, babies still can be given a delicious scent, without harming his or her skin as one of my friends’ pointed out. If you have a specific scent you love, you and your baby can still enjoy it.   My friend uses La Roche-Posay’s bath oil and La Roche-Posay Baume Body Lotion. She loves the delicious smell of the Bvlgari products but  she can’t use the products on her 10-month-old baby.

She told me, “after his bath with La Roche-Posay bath oil, I use the La Roche-Posay Baume body lotion and as a finishing touch I use the Bvlgari body lotion as a hand creme on my own hands, and touch him through his hair. It’s a great method, because now he smells delicious without using the Bvlgari product directly on his skin.”

La Roche-Posay products can be bought online at www.walgreens.com,  www.amazon.com or www.dermstore.com

Lief and Neutral are Dutch brands. Lief delivers worldwide through their website www.lieflifestyle.com

Balneum can be bought in Europe, or online with deliveries throughout Europe at www.farmaline.co.uk
