Today it’s this year’s first official summer day, and with that in mind I browsed through the concept of mocktails. Many hotels and resorts include Mocktails in their Babymoon Packages, dad-to-be can enjoy a cocktail and mom-to-be a non-alcoholic cocktail, the Mocktail. Cocktails and summer go perfectly together. But when you’re expecting during the summer months, cocktails don’t mix well with your pregnancy. Thankfully you don’t have to miss out at summer parties or picnics. I was happy to find three great books about Mocktails for Moms-to-Be. It’s also a great pre-birth present to give to a pregnant friend (each book costs less than $16).
1. The Newly Non-Drinking Girl’s Guide to Pregnancy (by Jackie Rose and Dr. Caroline Angel)
The Newly Non-Drinking Girl’s Guide to Pregnancy is a hilarious and honest look at how to survive pregnancy without alcohol. From practical information on alcohol and pregnancy to fun advice on surviving birthdays, bachelorettes and barbecues sans cocktails and finding sobriety support at home, this is the perfect book for any party girl who finds herself pregnant.
By including 50 fun recipes for mocktails to complete every month along the way, authors Jackie Rose and Dr. Caroline Angel give newly pregnant women insight into how to survive-if not thrive-while going the full 40 without alcohol.
