I have come across a gorgeous collection of kiddies’ nightwear I just had to tell you about. Room Seven specialises in bedding, bags and accessories for your little ones and I have to say who knew cute could be so chic? The brain behind the designs is Brecht Olsthoorn who teases customers with just two bag and nightwear collections each year, as well as other lovely accessories such as bibs, soft toys and sleeping bags.
Since having my son, I have become obsessed with what to put him in at night – worrying that he is either too hot or too cold so my ears pricked up when I came across the website – www.roomseven.com. I love this year’s spring/summer bedding collection in bright reds and pink, with pretty cushions, quilts and changing bags depicting anything from princesses, country landscapes to a pony in front of a castle. The same goes for the pretty nightdresses with frilled cup sleeves (although not sure what the little man would say to them), or the tartan checked pyjamas in soft cottons.
I was sent one of the sleeping bags to try out which came in fetching red and blue checks – a little too feminine my husband thinks but, who cares, he isn’t going out in it? I particularly like the neat elastic pinching under the arms to keep out any drafts and the fairly small armholes did the same job (I hate it when they are large and gape open). The fabric is surprisingly thin for a 2.5 tog and I would be inclined to add extra covering if it was particularly cold but I might be a bit over zealous about him feeling even the slightest chill. The fabric is soft with a long front zip to fit easily over pyjamas and being 100 per cent cotton meant he kept cool but was warm enough for a mild January night.
The sleeping bags come in four designs and two lengths; 74cm at £39 and 92cm at £43. However, my favourite in the collection has to be the monkey quilt – just look how adorable it is – perfect for my little monkey.
