Minene is one of those companies that produce lovely things and when you flick through its brochure, all you want to do is buy those lovely things and surround your baby with them. And because it was established by three mothers, everything is wonderfully practical which is a dangerous combination when it comes to your bank balance.
There’s the three-in-one activity mat that converts from a soft surface for your little one to lie on, to a play pen as she learns to roll to a sofa so she can recline in comfort when she learns how to sit. Brilliant. Or the handy net bag that comes in its own pouch which opens out and attaches to the back of your stroller ready to fill with shopping. Or there is the supersize muslin that claims to have an endless number of uses, from swaddling blanket, nursing blanket (to shield when breastfeeding) soft towel, stroller shade, changing mat to a sheet for the pram.
I was sent a Cosy Foot Muff to try out, in readiness for the cold winter months fast approaching. Unsurprisingly, it is lovely. The design is universal so it fitted easily on my stroller, with a neat pocket at the top that hooks snugly over the seat. It is made of a very soft fleece with a cotton liner and is not as thick as some foot muffs and doesn’t have a waterproof outer skin but in some ways I prefer that.
Having a little boy who quickly overheats, I like its lightweight feel and if it rains I will put the waterproof pram cover on. What’s more, it can be completely unzipped and taken off to be used as a cool cotton liner in the summer. It is also machine washable and dries quickly. I love the sweet little car embroidered onto the front of our (there are hearts, elephants or flowers available too) and the plain grey color with chic black stripes at the top means it doesn’t clash with my buggy.
And at GBP 28.99 it won’t break the bank – it’s all the other things you buy as well that will. Go to www.minene.co.uk
