Basq NYC, the skincare brand for expecting and new moms, announced this week their collaboration with Disney for mom & baby products inspired by ‘It’s a Small World’. This initiative is the first time ‘It’s a Small World’ has been co-branded and basq joins an exclusive list of designers that brings the ride’s multi-cultural vibrant colors, patterns and images to select clothing, accessories and gift sets.
The new line celebrates the unique bond of mother & child in their own “small world” and the shared connections of moms worldwide. From better sleep to buttery smooth skin, the line is something completely new for mom and little one to share !
‘It’s a Small World’ History
The ride was created for the 1964 New York World’s Fair UNICEF Pavilion as a gift to the children of the world. It is one of five attractions used by Disney to test concepts and ride systems, then moved and re-built at Disneyland after the Fair closed in 1966. Like many Disneyland attractions, scenes and characters were designed by Marc Davis and his wife Alice Davis designed the costumes for the dolls.
Mary Blair – A Trailblazer
The entire line is displayed in the original colorful and playful artistry of Mary Blair. Blair had been an art director on several Disney animated features (including Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan) and one of the few female animators of her time. The imaginary artwork of ‘It’s a Small World’ lends itself to the box landscape with scenes relayed product by product. Standing alone each package is rich, inspired and playful, building the acclaimed design and emotion of ‘It’s a Small World’.
The line pre-launched at the Disney D23 Convention and the response from shoppers was overwhelming ! Not only is the packaging a show stopper but basq is thrilled at the on-going fantastic feedback from customers who love the aromas and textures. To buy online, visit www.basqdisney.com
