We team up with Next to bring you 3 great looks for you and your bump on the beach!
Pregnancy is a time when a woman really deserves to put her feet up once in a while (it’s the last rest you’ll be getting for quite some time…). And what better way to do that than booking a babymoon holiday and enjoying a week in the sun?
It can be frustrating to find that many mainline and high street retailers, all now introducing their key summer and beachwear looks, so often overlook the crucial design of bikinis and cove-ups for pregnant women, but thankfully, Next has some lovely maternity swimwear and it’s given us a few ideas about dressing well for a week on the beach.
Our first look is a real myth-buster, which shows that dressing whilst pregnant doesn’t always have to mean demure stripes and baggy grey tops: tropical prints and big colours.
Don’t let the limited imaginations of the high street tell you that maternity beach wear can’t be fun, this vivid suit is a gorgeous summer swimwear choice. We would pair it with a long maxi dress in a similarly deep fuschia, and a large floppy sunhat (preferably a natural straw, no need for ribbons or embellishments) to make sure you and your baby don’t overheat!

Pink Tropical Swimsuit, £ 26
Next up, one of the colours of the season: cobalt. Next’s all-in-one, colour-wash halter swimsuit is great for several reasons: it’s bang on-trend; its shape is extremely complementary to a pregnant figure; and the halter neck makes pregnant breasts look amazing, without squashing or being uncomfortable. A low-slung sarong tied at the waist is the perfect accompaniment, as the top is so pretty it’ll look lovely as a vest with this year’s coloured jeans as well.

Blue Print Halter Swimsuit, £ 24
Finally a more nautical look with this navy and red tankini, which will look lovely with a loose white skirt or shorts. You can recycle that lovely floppy sunhat, and throw in some brown leather sandals and a tote bag for all your holiday reading, suncream and snacks.

Navy & Red Tankini, £ 22
