KIDS BED BUMPER REVIEW
No More Rolling Out of Bed
by Alice Metcalfe
When our son made the momentous transition from cot to bed, my first concern was how to stop him rolling out of bed. After a quick straw poll with fellow mums, I first of all tried tucking a single duvet cover under both sides of the mattress (he didn’t like to be confined). I piled pillows along the edge of the bed as a makeshift barrier as well as a row on the floor should they not work but they were easily pulled off. I even tried an awful metal toddler barrier given to me by a friend of my mum. Its base tucked under the mattress which made what I imagined to be an uncomfortable lump for him. Even if he did succeed in ignoring the bars underneath him, he would regularly knock noisily into the barrier as he twisted and turned in the night, keeping me awake with its bangs and crashes before waking him up to. Not good.
Then I came across the ingenious Bed Bumper from Purple Daisies. It is so simple but so effective. The bumper is a long triangular tube of sponge that fits along the edge of the bed underneath the sheets. It acts as a soft wall that stopped my son falling out of bed the minute I tucked it in.
This brilliant invention comes in different lengths to accommodate anything from a cot bed to a double and best of all it is so lightweight and squidgy it can be stuffed into the car and go with you on holiday.
It is just such a good product. The original single bumper costs £9.99 and can be bought from www.purpledaisies.co.uk . Well worth taking a look at.
